Research Mentorship Program in UC Santa Barbara -- An immersive summer program that engages students in interdisciplinary, hands-on, university-level research under the guidance of a mentor. Students participate in all stages of the academic research process by choosing a project from a curated list featuring topics in STEM, Humanities, and Social Sciences, and mastering field-specific skills.
Program Dates: June 20 – August 4, 2023
Must attend program in its entirety, including the virtual component June 20–23, 2023
Program Eligibility:
Qualified students in the 10th and 11th grades, as well as advanced 9th graders.
Minimum 3.8 GPA (weighted, UC a–g requirements)
Summer Research Academies in UC Santa Barbara -- A dynamic summer experience that offers students the opportunity to foster a passion for research and learn about current, open-ended questions. Students choose an interdisciplinary track in STEM, Humanities, and/or Social Sciences where they build on fundamental concepts that lead them to develop a research project with the guidance of experts.
Program Dates: June 29 – July 28, 2023
Students must attend program in its entirety, including the virtual component June 29 – 30, 2023
Application Window: December 15, 2022 to March 29, 2023.
Admissions occur on a rolling basis.
Program Eligibility:
Qualified students in the 9th, 10th, and 11th grades. •
Minimum 3.6 GPA (weighted, UC a–g requirements)
The Online Research Program at UC Irvine School of Medicine. At the completion of the program the students will be able to:
Understand the core concepts for responsible conduct of research involving human subjects
Understand the importance of evidence-based medicine
Learn how to critically evaluate the medical literature on a given topic
Write an organized research report
Network with undergraduate and postgraduate coaches and get advice about college
Program Dates: Session June 26 - July 14, 2023
Tuition for the online program is $2,160. A $50 discount is available for those who register before Feb. 14, 2023.
Eligibility: The Summer Online Research Program is open to high school students who:
Are 15 to 18 years of age
Have a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.3 out of 4
How to apply: rolling basis. Our program typically closes to new applications by the end of January or beginning of February. Qualified applicants who have submitted all of the necessary documents will be accepted on a first-come basis until we reach capacity. Priority will be given to those attending higher grades in high school.

SAGE Camp at SLAC is a FREE one-week residential/overnight camp (virtual, as necessary) for public high school students from all backgrounds.

The Scripps Research Translational Institute (SRTI) promotes cutting-edge translational research, focused on personalized health care through the genomic, proteomic and metabolomic correlates of health and disease. We additionally seek to advance personalized medicine through research incorporating mobile health (mHealth) monitoring of individuals’ symptoms and physiology.
